A prominent suburb of Phoenix, the city of Chandler is bordered to the northwest by Tempe, to the north by Mesa, to the west by Phoenix, to the south by the Gila River Indian Community, and to the east by Gilbert.

Schools, Health and Transportation
The Chandler Unified School District is the main provider of education, however the Kyrene Elementary School District, Tempe Union High School District, Mesa Public Schools, and Gilbert Public Schools service certain areas of Chandler. For those parents looking for private and parochial school options, there are numerous quality options available. Many of the schools are highly rated not only in Arizona, but also across the country.
The Chandler Regional Medical Center is the primary hospital within the area, however many Phoenix area hospitals are just a short drive away, as are many private healthcare providers and specialists.
Ideally located for commuters, Loop 202, Loop 101 and I-10 makes access to nearby communities easy. Furthermore, Valley Metro provides public buses for those who prefer public transportation. Buses are limited, so be sure to inquire about the schedule via Valley Metro.
Parks and Recreation
The San Marcos Resort & Spa is the oldest golf resort in Arizona, and is located in historic downtown Chandler. Located adjacent to the Dr. A. J. Chandler Park, where many special events and functions are held each year. Another popular attraction is the Tumbleweed Recreation Center, a 62,000-square foot recreational facility located inside the Tumbleweed Regional Park. Residents can enjoy numerous classes, activities and special events, as well as enjoy the fitness center, indoor track, gymnasium, racquetball courts, exercise and dance studios, lounges, computer lab, and more. Boasting more than fifty local community and neighborhood parks, you cannot talk about entertainment without including the parks system. One such prized attraction is the Veterans Oasis Park and Environmental Education Center, which is home to 100-acres of wetlands and desert, and offers hiking, biking, and jogging trails as well as urban fishing and picnic areas. Festivals are also a regular occurrence with the annual Ostrich Festival being one of the most noteworthy. The celebration is held to commemorate the ostrich farms that thrived in this area during the early 20th century and offers a wealth of entertainment, music, and food.
Shopping and Dining
There are numerous opportunities for shopping and dining. Downtown is a wealth of local, independent boutiques, antique stores, art galleries, and five-star restaurants. Chandler Fashion Center, on the other hand, offers an upscale collection of more than 180 retailers, including popular brands such as Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, J. Crew, Banana Republic, The Apple Store, Coach and more. Restaurant options at the Mall include The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, The Old Spaghetti Factory, and Chili’s to name a few.
